I'm So Fancy!
I have come to a conclusion. I do not need a reason to get dressed up. When I became a stay at home mom, I fell into a routine of only getting dressed up when I had to. I never considered going to the store or running errands occasions worthy of putting on a dress; or even makeup.
However this week changed my perception. Our two children are now in school. I was so sad to see our baby girl leave our safe haven; and take her first steps on a path toward independence. The epiphany came when I realized this is the perfect opportunity for me to return to pursuing my passions. There are other interests that I have that don't surround motherhood.
So today I dropped the kids off at school, came home and put on a vintage dress that I picked up from Goodwill weeks ago. I took time to ensure my makeup, accessories, shoes, and hair were all in place. Then I set out on my day.
Feeling fresh and renewed, with every step, I sang in my head the only line from the song I know..."I'm So Fancy, You Already Know!"
